Mammut

Mammut came to avalanche safety more by chance at the beginning of the 1990s. Girsberger Elektronik AG and Ascom AG, which manufactured avalanche transceivers in the 1980s primarily for the army, were ill-equipped to market a consumer product. Mammut was called in specifically for this task. From then on, the Barrivox products were marketed under the Mammut brand and in 2008 Mammut took over the brand rights for Barrivox completely. Together with CCS Adaxys AG, which went on to develop the Barrivox, Mammut continued to drive forward the technology and the interaction between man and device. The current Barrivox S is one of the best in the world.

In 2011, Mammut took over the company Snowpulse, which at the time had a serious airbag system in addition to ABS. Mammut consistently developed this further and today offers a wide range of avalanche backpacks with its airbags. However, Mammut's system has always been one of the lightest and most reliable.

Of course, shovels and probes are also among Mammut's core competences.
