Armada

Armada was founded in 2002 by riders like Julien Regnier, JP Auclair, Tanner Hall and CF Cusson and was one of the first “rider owned” freeski company. Armada offered two models in its first year: The AR5, as a park ski and the ARV, a freeride ski with just over 90mm underfoot. This was a time when many riders were frustrated coming from “big brands” because it was incredibly difficult to convince them to produce a twin tip ski. Their first ski video gives a good idea of the spirit of optimism of that time:

In the years that followed, Armada developed groundbreaking skis like the ARG (revolutionarily ridden by T. Hall in the movie Believe) and then, of course, the legendary JJ by Julien and JP.

After some difficult years, Armada was sold to Amer Sports (Salomon, Atomic) in March 2017. But this has not harmed the identity and spirit of Armada, on the contrary. Since then, Armada has been coming to life again! The Tracer line are beautifully balanced freetouring skis. The classic ARV line stands for freestyle skis in the park and backcountry. The titanal-reinforced Declivity series skis everything in between all-mountain and freeride. And then there’s the classy Zero Series and the wicked Signature Series: skis that you simply won’t find anywhere else.
